The brightwork on a DS, especially a Pallas, is a big part of how the car looks. Over the years it collects dents from car park knocks and a dull haze that no amount of polish from a tin will shift. Replacement trim is scarce and expensive, and new pieces don't always fit as well as the originals.

Repairing and polishing your original trim brings back the shine without losing the parts that came with the car.

What's involved

  • Carefully removing the trim without bending it or damaging the clips

  • Working out dents by hand, a little at a time, so the metal isn't stretched

  • Polishing through progressively finer stages to a mirror finish

We will advise in case components are beyond repair, so all of them are subject to inspection before any work commences.

Why DS-specific expertise matters

DS trim is long, thin and easy to kink. Much of it is held on by clips hidden behind the panels, and forcing it off usually bends the trim or breaks the fixings. Knowing how each piece comes away is half the job.

It also has to line up with its neighbours along the length of the car. A strip that's been straightened but not quite true shows up straight away in the reflections.

We've been working on these cars since 2006 and have looked after many hundreds of them. We know what to look for because we've seen what happens when it's missed.

Paul and Rad have looked after my cars for the past twelve years and I am very grateful for their expertise. There's so much to learn about the DS, and Paul has always been generous with his time and knowledge. He'll provide an honest appraisal on any potential purchase and identifies the many cars that are best avoided.
