EFI conversion to modern standards
The fuel-injected DS21 and DS23 were among the first production cars with electronic fuel injection. Fifty years on, that early Bosch system is the weak point.
Its analogue control unit and sensors are ageing, and replacements are scarce and expensive. Owners live with poor hot starting and the worry of breaking down with no parts available.
Converting to a modern engine management system keeps the car's character and gets rid of the uncertainty.
What's involved
Replacing the original control unit with a modern, programmable one.
New sensors and wiring, laid out to look tidy in the engine bay
Mapping the fuel and ignition to suit your engine, on a rolling road where needed

Why DS-specific expertise matters
The original injection system is well documented but rarely understood. Diagnosing whether a fault is in the control unit, a sensor or somewhere else entirely needs someone who has worked on dozens of these cars rather than read about them.
Converting to modern EFI improves reliability first of all. Power and fuel economy improve too, and emissions come down. We make sure the new system keeps a familiar look under the bonnet, so it doesn't look out of place in the engine bay.
Owners of the cars we've converted report all of these improvements. We still look after those cars for regular maintenance, and none of them has had a problem with the new system.
We've been working on these cars since 2006 and have looked after many hundreds of them. We know what to look for because we've seen what happens when it's missed.
Paul and Rad have looked after my cars for the past twelve years and I am very grateful for their expertise. There's so much to learn about the DS, and Paul has always been generous with his time and knowledge. He'll provide an honest appraisal on any potential purchase and identifies the many cars that are best avoided.
