General servicing, maintenance & repairs
A DS that gets driven regularly is a happier car than one that sits in a garage, but it needs regular attention to stay that way.
Hydraulic fluid ages, spheres lose their charge, rubber seals perish and small leaks become big ones. Left alone, a minor fault on a DS has a habit of turning into an expensive one, usually at the side of a road.
Regular servicing catches these things early, so your car stays reliable and you can use it as often as you like.
What's involved
Every car gets a full inspection before we touch anything. A typical service includes:
Hydraulic system check for pressure and leaks
Engine oil and all filters change
Steering and suspension check
Electrical checks. Lights, wipers etc.
Brake inspection, clean and adjusting
If we find anything beyond the service, we'll call you before doing any extra work. For repairs, we'll diagnose the fault first and give you a quote before we start.
Why DS-specific expertise matters
The DS doesn't work like other cars. Its hydropneumatic system runs the suspension, brakes and steering, and on some models the gearbox and clutch too. A fault in one place can show up somewhere else entirely, so diagnosing it means knowing how the whole system fits together.
We've been working on these cars since 2006 and have looked after many hundreds of them. We know what to look for because we've seen what happens when it's missed.
Paul and Rad have looked after my cars for the past twelve years and I am very grateful for their expertise. There's so much to learn about the DS, and Paul has always been generous with his time and knowledge. He'll provide an honest appraisal on any potential purchase and identifies the many cars that are best avoided.
