Rust is the thing that ends most DS stories. It hides in the sills and floors, often under shiny paint, and by the time it shows it's usually been there for years. A car can look good at a car show and still be weak where it matters.

A proper chassis and body restoration deals with the structure first, so the car is sound underneath as well as good to look at.

What's involved

Stripping the car back to its base unit and assessing the structure

Cutting out corroded metal and replacing it with new sections, made to the original profile
Repairing or replacing the bolt-on outer panels
Rust protection, including cavity wax in the box sections
Paint, in the original colour or one of your choosing

We photograph the work at every stage and share it with you as the job progresses, so you can see what we found and what we did.

Why DS-specific expertise matters

The DS is built differently from most cars. Its strength comes from a steel base unit, with the outer panels bolted on and carrying almost no load. That makes the base unit the part that really matters, and the sills are a key part of it. Repairs that look fine but aren't structurally correct can affect how the car drives and how the panels line up.

Panel gaps on a DS are long and very visible. Getting the doors and wings to sit right takes patience and a lot of trial fitting.
